Yankees Keep Rollin'

YANKEES 5
TWINS 1

Theeeeeeeeeee Yankees Win AGAIN!

For the sixth straight time the Yankees find a way to win yet again, this time blowing away and sweeping the Minnesota Twins in a Wednseday matinee at the Stadium.

Mike Mussina was brilliant again, going eight strong innings giving up only six hits, walking none, and striking out seven. He threw 105 pitches.

Offensivly, it took five innings for the Yankees to figure out Minnesota's Glenn Perkins. In the fifth a smoking Robinson Cano singled to start things off. He was followed up with a Melky Cabrera single. But it was a Justin Christian double that brought both runners home to make it 2-0 Bombers.

In the sixth, the meat of the Yankee order got a chance to play around with the Minnesota right hander, tacking three more runs on the board. Derek Jeter doubled, and Bobby Abreu walked. This was followed by a double for Alex Rodriguez to make it 4-0. Later newcomer Richie Sexson drove in his second RBI as a Yankee with a Sac. Fly to center field to bring home Rodriguesz.

The Yankees are now just three and a half behind Tampa Bay for first place, and two back of Boston for the Wild Card. Oh, BTW, the Yankees and Red Sox meet up Friday night in Boston, as Joba Chamberlin takes on Josh Beckett. First pitch is at 7:10.
