A night after blowing out the Denver Nuggets 114-70, the Nets got a taste of their own medicine Sunday night in Orlando, Florida, losing to the Magic 101-84.
The Nets were completely dominated by the Magic from start to finish. The only chance they had was getting to within nine at 89-80 before Orlando's Mickael Pietrus sank a 24 foot three-pointer to all but put the game out of reach with just under four minutes to go.
Orlando grabbed a 32-18 lead in the first quarter, making it quite clear that New Jersey was in for a long night against a top NBA team. It didn't help matters for the Nets that Vince Carter had to miss the game with a sore elbow. READ STORY.
Devon Harris was the lone bright spot for the Nets. Harris had 28 points on 9 for 25 shooting, with 12 assists. Dwight Howard had 30 points and 16 rebounds for the Magic, proving to be a huge thorn in the Nets side all night long. Overall, Orlando shot .48 percent from the field, 68 percent from the free-throw line and 30 percent from three-point land.
The Nets fall to 24-28 on the season.
