Rangers Fight, But Lose Anyway

MAPLE LEAFS 3
RANGERS 2
OVERTIME

The Rangers just can't catch a break. After fighting tooth and nail against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night, the Rangers still found a way to lose, 3-2 in overtime.

Three minutes into OT, Niklas Hagman scored on the powerplay with assists from Pavel Kubina and Lee Stempniak to give Toronto the win. This occurred after the Rangers scored in the final minute of regulation to tie the game at two.

John Mitchell opened the scoring for Toronto as he sliped the puck into the net 3:54 into the third period. The Rangers tied it on Scott Gomez's 12 goal of the year.

Ian White gave the Leafs the lead back with his eighth goal of the season just seconds later.

The Rangers continue their free fall out of the playoff picture as they now stand at 31-24-6.
