TWINS 5
YANKEES 4
After grabbing a quick 3-0 lead, the Yankees bullpen was unable to hold down the Minnesota Twins, as Minnesota scored four runs in three innings to capture the victory.
Brett Gardner led off for New York and did very well, doubling in the first inning and later coming around to score on a Cody Ransom single to make it 1-0. Ransom later scored on a Xavier Nady sacrifice to make it 2-0.
But Minnesota came back. Justin Kubel's solo home run in the sixth got the Twins to within 3-2. In the eighth, the Twins pounded Wilkin De La Rosa for two runs to take a 5-3 lead.
The Yankees got a run in the ninth, but Ramiro Pena grounded into a double play to end the game. BOXSCORE.
