Nets' President Rod Thorn Stepping Down

With the biggest free agent signing period in NBA history about to begin, Nets GM Rod Thorn has stepped down as President/GM of the team, effective next month.

He is not being forced out by new owner Mikhal Prokhorov, who reportedly wants Thorn to stay. Thorn has yet to even sign a contract extension offered by Prokhorov.

Thorn will likely stay with team through the first part of free agency, but if the team had any plans of signing LeBron James or Dwayne Wade, they are probably squashed now that there is no stability in New Jersey.
