No comeback this time; Yankees fall to Rangers to even up series
There was no amazing comeback this time around for the New York Yankees. For the second straight day, the Bombers fell behind 5-0, but this time the Rangers held on for a 7-2 victory to even up the ALCS at a game apiece.
David Murphy had a big day for the Rangers. His solo homer in the second gave Texas a 2-0 lead; then in the third Murphy doubled to right to drive in Nelson Cruz to give the Rangers a 4-0 lead.
The Yankees tried to make a comeback when Lance Berkman's single drove in Ronbinson Cano to cut it to 5-1, but the Rangers bullpen shut down the Yankees for the final four and a third innings to close out the victory.
Game three will feature Cliff Lee against Andy Pettitte, Monday night.
