Randy Moss to be traded back to Minnesota Vikings

In a move that will not only shake up the AFC East, but will have serious repercussions on Monday nights Jets vs. Vikings match-up, the New England Patriots are close to trading Randy Moss to Minnesota.

Moss has ruffled feathers in New England with his demands for a better contract, highlighted when Moss told the media he was unhappy in New England after a week 1 victory against Cincinnati.

Three weeks ago, Moss hooked up against Jets cornerback Darrell Revis; the two have become quite the rivalry over the last couple years, as Moss caught a one handed touchdown over Revis, who injured his hamstring.

With Revis healthy he will once again cover Moss, only this time it will be earlier than expected. With Moss in Minnesota it adds another dimension that the Jets have to game for. They already have to deal with Adrian Peterson, and their ole' mate Brett Favre. Now Moss will be added to the mix.

It figures to be a night full of starstuded action come Monday when the Jets and Vikes collide.

Is New England committing suicide here by trading Moss? Essentially yes! Without Moss, Wes Welker, who is really a slot receiver becomes that number one target that people will cover. This opens the door for Julian Edelman, who is a nice possession receiver in his own right, as well as tight end Aaron Hernandez who has been a big contributor for the Pats this year.

Were the Pats scheming to trade Moss to Minnesota in time for him to reek havoc on the Jets, thinking that Revis wouldn't be a 100%, so they can gain ground, even with a bye week? Umm, that might be reaching a bit, but with Bill Belichick, A.K.A." Mr. Paranoid" you never know.

The addition of Randy Moss will give Favre a deep threat he has been missing while Sydney Rice has been out. If they keep the receivers healthy, the Vikings can still win the division.
