Sack machines: Giants D destroys Jay Cutler & Bears
The Giants rebounded in a big way from their 29-10 loss to the Titans with a dominating defensive effort against the Chicago Bears, as the G-Men racked up 10 sacks of Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
Osi Umineyora and Justin Tuck led the way with three sacks each, as the Giants had their biggest sack day in three seasons when Umineyora recorded six sacks of then-Eagles quarterback Donavan McNabb.
The Giants needed Tuck and Umineyora to step as the leaders of this defensive unit. They are the most visible returning defensive players from the Giants Super Bowl XLII title run, and with Michael Strahan and Antonio Pierce no longer at Giants Stadium, the G-Men need these two to play like this more often.
The Giants held the Bears to six first downs and 110 total yards of offense on the night.
Offensively the Giants didn't do much. They held a 3-0 lead into the third quarter, before getting touchdown runs from Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs to pad a 17-3 lead.
Are the Giants all the way back? Not sure yet, they have a big test this weekend in Houston, when the face the offensive firepower of the Texans. If the Giants win that game, then we will be talking.

The Bears are going to struggle as the season progresses. Cutler is going to take too many shots, and the offense just isnt that strong. They have beaten some very weak opponents and done it in a lucky fashion.
