Nets nearing blockbuster trade for Carmelo Anthony

The Nets are 10-27, 18.5 games behind the first place Boston Celtics.

On the surface there is little hope for New Jersey to even get back into playoff contention this year, but don't tell that to the Nets front office. Obviously they believe.

The Nets are nearing a three team trade that will bring the franchise Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups from the Denver Nuggets, and Richard "Rip" Hamilton from the Detroit Pistons. It will re-unite Billips and Hamilton who were part of the Pistons NBA Finals runs in the early 2000's.

It's a terrific move if the Nets make it. Yes, the lose youngsters in Devin Harris and Derrik Favors, but if they can get these proven winners, and keep them, they will suddenly povalt themselves into contention for the eighth playoff seed.
