Mets Fall in Milwaukee As Injuries Stack Up

Things are not looking good for the New York Mets

Not only did the Amazin's get blown out by the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday to the tune of 8-4, but with Atlanta's 3-0 win over Kansas City, the Mets are right now in a virtual three-way tie for two wild card slots with the Braves and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Not only that, the Mets look battered. Both literary and figuratively.

With Francisco Lindor already playing through a lingering back injury, catcher Francisco Alvarez appeared to sustain a back-injury of his own when he left the game in the top of the seventh inning. It was later diagnosed as back spasms.

He sustained the injury while sliding into third base, before grabbing his lower back, and had to be helped off the field.

If the Mets lose Alvarez for an extended period over these final three days, it could be curtains for this team and their playoff hopes.

It's one thing to lose, but with injuries stacking up? That's nearly impossible.
