As seems to have become an annual tradition, the entire New York Giants schedule drops before anyone else, and well ahead of the "official" announcement this evening at 8 p.m.
Thanks to X accounts @NFLNerd and @ozzyNFL, fans have been watching schedule leaks drop across the league as if they were general election returns since Wednesday afternoon. In fact, the anticipation and prediction element of the schedule has become a thing of its own in social media circles. Everyone takes their best swing at guessing the schedule.
As for Big Blue, we knew on Monday that they would open the season against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, September 13. No real surprise. The Cowboys are a ratings magnate for the NFL no matter how good nor bad they are. Couple that will John Harbaugh's debut as Giants coach, and you got a ready made game for prime time.By Wednesday night we also found out that the Giants were going to host the Cardinals in Week 4 and the Washington Commanders in Week 10 on a Thursday night. We also found out that the Giants were not heading overseas as many expected. The anticipation was the Giants would face the Lions in Munich, Germany in November. Instead the NFL opted to send the AFC Champion New England Patriots.
Then License Plate Guy revealed, cleverly, that the Giants would play in Dallas in January.
Finally per Doug Rush, via Art Stapleton, the entire thing was revealed.
Following their Sunday night game in Dallas, the Giants head to L.A. to face the Rams on Monday night, September 21. Makes sense. The two big prime time networks, NBC and then ESPN get to see the Giants with their new Head Coach. It's also the Rams first game post Australia.
Big Blue face former Head Coach Brian Daboll, the Tennessee Titans Offensive Coordinator in Week 3.
The Giants visit Washington in Week 5, and will split a two-game road trip between Philadelphia (Week 7) and Houston (Week 9) with the bye week in between in Week 8.
The Giants face San Francisco at home in Week 13, and visit Seattle in Week 14. Oddly neither game is in prime time, although they could get flexed later. The Giants close the season at Detroit on a Monday night in Week 16; visit the Cowboys in Week 17, and close out the regular season at MetLife against the Eagles.
