Rumors: LaConfora Report of Jets Interest in Mike Tomlin Blows Up Internet

So according to Jason LaConfora, formally of CBS Sports, who is currently writing for a site called casino.org, the New York Jets could be interested in former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, should the 2026 season come apart at the seems and cost Aaron Glenn his job. 


LaConfora didn't just stop there, he also reported that Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson might be a chip that gets included should Woody Johnson pursue and land Tomlin.  

The report has been met with extreme skepticism. 

Beat reporter Zach Rosenblat said that any rumors that Woody Johnson is doing homework now on Mike Tomlin is strictly false. 

Fans across Jets social media also chimed in to disparage the report, many siting LaConfora's spotty track record in reporting scoops. 

To be honest the story sounds bogus. Why would the Jets two weeks before the season decide now is the time to kick the tires on a head coach. It makes no sense, and if it were true would be totally disrespectful to Glenn and GM Darren Mougey. 


 

Love 'em or hate 'em Glenn and Mougey deserve the respect and fans should root for the best to happen this season.

Same Ol' Jets! Gang Green Dropped by Ravens

Jets, Dolphins and Patriots Playoff Breakdown

Here are the formuli that could get the Jets into and out of the playoff party this season: 1) If the Jets win against Seattle and Miami, they win the AFC East based on a better conference record (8-4) than the New England Patriots, even if New England wins out as well. 2) If the Patriots win out and the Dolphins win out and finish at 11-5, the Jets would be 10-6, or 9-7, and probably out of the playoffs. Both New England and Miami would make the playoffs, with the Dolphins as a divison winner and the Patriots as a wild card.
