Barry Bonds to Mets????

There is a rumor swirling around from the New York Post that Barry Bonds could become a New York Met, and Omar "the IDIOT" Minaya did little to knock down the idea, according to the article in Tuesday's Post.

Now either the Post is once again looking to report eroneous strories as it seemingling does on a regular basis, or this story is legit.

If it is the former, than the Mets are dumber than I thought.

Bringing in Bonds would be a total disater from a PR standpoint, and an on the field standpoint. Bonds has nothing left defensively, as he just lurks around the field bearly able to chase after balls, and, unless he is still using steroids, probably has nothing left in his bat.

From a PR standpoint, bringing Bonds into New York would be the equivolent of Godzilla stomping on millions of Japanese in a Sci-Fi movie.

Bonds would divide the clubhouse with his bad attitude, and his presence would create a national media frenzy that no one wants. He would get into the heads of young vulnerable players like Jose Reyes, and turn them into bigger clowns then they already are. Plus, who's to say that Bonds won't be thrown into jail tomorrow. He is under federal indictment for comitting purjury.

Minaya and the Mets should have just said NO to the sneaky Post reporter, when he asked about the prospect of bringing Bonds in. If Minaya was smart, we wouldn't be wasting time on this now.
