Favre to N.Y. Jets? Looks Possible

A report from ESPN earlier this afternoon stated that Brett Favre plans to file the nessecary paper work for reinstatement into the leauge to play football. He will then try to report to Green Bay training camp as he disscussed two weeks ago.

Still, the Packers have stood firm to their belief that life will be better off without Favre, and will trade the Hall of Famer, before he makes training camp into another reality TV show.

Therefore, as expected the New York Jets are one of the frontrunners for Favre. They have thrown their hat into the ring, and have been granted permission to talk to Favre about his contract status, his desire to play at least two more years, and his taste for the New Jersey/New York area.

Don't be surprised if the deal gets done. I think it would be a great fit for the Jets, as they free themselves from the missery of Chad Pennington, once and for all, after eight years of mediocrity.

Keep in mind this summer is the ten year anniversy of the Jets bringing in another aging quaterback with big career numbers to replace an inconistent and irratic starter. His name: Vinny Testaverde. Testaverde wound up spending the best six years of his life in New York, leading the Jets to numerous playoff appearances and a berth in the 1998-1999 AFC Championship Game.
