Yankee Prove Rays To Be Frauds

YANKEES 5
RAYS 0

Maybe the Tampa Bay Rays are indeed frauds!! In a big game, the Rays could not do anything against the biggest big game pitcher in the world, Andy Pettite.

Pettite was marvelous against the Rays energetic lineup, shutting down the Rays for eight innings, surrendering only four hits and striking out five. The only Ray to have success off of Pettite was B.J. Upton who went 2 for 4 with a double.

The Yankees once again made Scott Kazmir look small, tagging the left handed ace for two runs in just five innings of work. It's funny how much praise Kazmir gets when he pitches against other teams in the AL, but when he has to pitch a big game against the Yankeees, he comes up looking small.

Derek Jeter doubled to right to bring home Jose Molina and Robinson Cano in the third inning.

Finally, in the eighth, the Yankees teed off of reliever Gary Glover tagging the righty for three runs. Melky Cabrera, who has been miserable all season, homered to get things started. Jeter singled, and then Bobby Abreu doubled him in to give the Yankees a 4-0 lead. Later, Robinson Cano singled in Abreu for the final Yankee run of the night.

The Yankees are now seven and a half games out of first place, which is an improvement, because just a few days ago they were 10 out.
