Yankees Still Waiting For Sabathia's Answer

The Yankees continue to wait for word from C.C. Sabathia or his agent about the pitcher's interest in playing in New York City next year; the process has been as easy as pulling teeth for the Bronx Bombers.

The Yankees offered Sabathia a record $140 million deal over six years back in early November, but the pitcher never reacted; instead, he went looking for suitors elsewhere. Still, the Yankees have tried to meet with Sabathia during the Las Vegas winter meetings.

After two meetings with the over-weight lefty, the Yankees still are not convinced that Sabathia wants to come to New York. GM Brain Cashman did not sound optimistic. “Hey, he might sign with another team. That’s certainly possible, without a doubt,” Cashman said (qtd. Blum AP Baseball Writer).

Meanwhile, there are rumors that Sabathia met with L.A. Dodgers GM Ned Colletti and told him that he wants to pitch for the Dodgers.

Sabathia lives in Southern California, so pitching for the Dodgers seems to make sense for the pitcher.
