What A Putz! J.J. Putz Latest Injuired Met

The Bubonic Plague, or Swine Flu, or just bad luck continues to ravage the Mets clubhouse. J.J. Putz became the latest victim to head to the ER for some medical attention. Putz is experiencing "sharp pain" in his right elbow which is inhibiting the pitcher from working effectively.

Putz gave up two runs on three hits on Thursday against the Pirates, raising his ERA to 5.22. Putz has been bothered by arm trouble since last month. On May 14, he had a cortisone shot to ease pain in that right elbow, but it has done nothing to make him pitch any better.

It is not known if Putz will hit the DL, but with the way things are going for the Mets, nothing would be surprising.
