Valentine out of running for Marlins job

According to the Florida Marlins website, former Mets manager Bobby Valentine is out of the running for the Marlins managerial job.

Why? Not money, but philisophical differences with the owner Jeffrey Loria.

What a shock! Valentine and Loria are two big personalities, it is not surprising that they can't see eye to eye. Valentine wants to add talent to make a run at the postseason, while Loria, who is notoriously cheap, is best known for shreeding the team for younger talent.

It was a marriage that would never work.
