Yankees Re-Sign Derek Jeter

For those paranoid Yankee fans that thought for a second that the Derek Jeter negotiations were the end of the world, can relax.

The Yankees and Jeter came to terms on a three year $51 million deal, that would pay the shortstop $19 per season. The Yankee intially offered Jeter a three year $45 million deal, while the Jeter camp wanted $24 million per year. The two sides came to an agreement in the middle.

Their is also an option for a fourth year worth $5 million, boosting the contract to $56 million.
