Mets Gets Swept by Pirates in Embarassing fashion

The New York Mets 2025 season feels like it is coming apart at the seams.  The Mets suffered a hideous sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend, where the Bucs outscored the Mets 30-4 over the course of the three game series that culminated in a 12-1 smackdown.  The Mets are now 3-13 in their last 16 games, and it doesn't look like things are going to get any better.  Check out the vlog!

Skids Continue for Both Yankees and Mets

The bad times keep rolling for the New York Mets and New York Yankees as both New York teams suffered losses on Tuesday.  For the Mets they got slapped around by the Atlanta Braves 7-4 on Tuesday, as New York blew a 3-0 lead behind Frankie Montas, who was making his Mets debut after opening the season on the Injury List. He gave the Mets what they needed: five innings of shutout baseball.  But when the bullpen came in, it was a totally different story. Huascar Brazoban, and Reed Garrett were awful. And newcomers Jose Castillo and Richard (don't call him Dickey) Lovelady were not much better.  Atlanta scored five runs in the sixth inning, and tacked on a couple more in the eighth to put the game away.   The Mets have now lost 10 of th...

Phillies Sink Mets into Second Place in NL East

There is a new team atop the National League Eastern division: the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite blasting seven home runs on Saturday night in a much-needed victory, the New York Mets lost their grip of first place over the weekend, losing two of three to the Phillies, culminating in a dismal 7-1 loss on Sunday night. The problem for the Mets on Sunday is the same problem that has persisted for well over a week: they don't have enough pitching.  For as good as David Peterson has been this year, he ran into a red brick wall on Sunday night when the Phillies teed off on him for five runs over four innings of work. It was Peterson's shortest outing of the season, and the most runs he's allowed in a single game this year. It's hard to get on Peterson when he's asked to be "the guy" on a team that doesn't have a true "Ace." Over the last seven games, the Mets have a team ERA of 6.22. Griffin Canning, Clay Holmes, Paul Blackburn, and Bla...

Bombs Away! Mets Cursh 7 Homers in Philly to Snap 7-Game Skid

The New York Mets broke out of their disturbingly long seven-game skid Saturday night with a barrage of homers, two of them from slugger Juan Soto in a much needed 11-4 laugher in Philadelphia.  On a night where the worlds attention were on bombs of a military kind, Saturday night, the Mets finally flexed how explosive their offense can be. Juan Soto goes long in Philadelphia. Getty Images  For Soto it was his biggest night in a Mets uniform. Four hits in five trips to the plate, two homers and four RBI. A player many were scuffing was disinterested over a month ago, has been on fire this month, and was the main reason behind the Mets sudden one-night resurgence.  But Soto wasn't alone. Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor were more than happy to join the party.  Nimmo's first inning homer off Mick Abel gave New York an early 1-0 lead and was a precursor of things to come.  With New York trailing 3-1 after Griffin Canning coughed up the lead in the bottom half of ...

Mets & Yankees Both Swept Away

Is trouble brewing, or was it just a blip on the radar screen? We are going to find out sooner rather than later, but, both the Mets and Yankees were swept in respective series this past weekend leaving questions for their respective fanbases as the second half of June begins Tuesday. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE METS? The Mets were swept away by the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field. It was the first time this season New York was swept in a series, and only the second time this year they lost a series at home. In the three games the Mets were outscored 24-9, with the Mets pitching staff giving up a combined 20 earned runs, or an ERA of 6.67. Meanwhile Pete Alonso and Juan Soto went a combined 3-for-22 (.136) in the three game series. Francisco Lindor. Getty Images  REASON FOR CONCERN? YES! The Mets pitching may have finally been exposed. A lot has been made about the remarkable turn arounds of the likes of Clay Holmes, Griffin Canning, and Tylor Megill. New York has ...

Giancarlo Stanton & Marcus Stroman rehab in Somerset

Yankees stars Giancarlo Stanton and Marcus Stroman rehabbed in Somerset, New Jersey this past week, and it appears that Stanton - at least - is ready to return to the Bronx when the Yankees open a series Tuesday vs. Anaheim.  As for Stroman he might need a couple more starts in the minors before returning. Here is our documentation of their duel rehab outing vs. Portland on Wednesday.

Knicks Firing of Tom Thibodeau Beyond Stunning

The New York Knicks have decided to part ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau on Tuesday, despite his leading New York to its first Eastern Conference Finals appearance in 25 years. The move sent shockwaves through the NBA after Thibs led the Knicks to their most successful run in a quarter century, and was under contract through the 2027-28 season. Instead, New York will head in another direction after five years , which seems like an eternity when it comes to Knicks coaches. Thibodeau posted a record of 226-174 as Knicks coach from 2020-2025. He was 24-23 in the postseason. His .565 winning percentage is the third best by a Knicks coach over the last quarter century, with only Mike Woodson (.580) and Jeff Van Gundy (.590) slightly better. Keep in mind, though, that the 400 games Thibodeau coached were the most by a Knicks coach since Van Gundy coached 420 games between 1996-2001. Reports indicated Tuesday that Thibodeau's firing was the decision of President/GM Leon ...
