METS 3

Martinez was in a no hit duel with Ulbaldo Jimenez of Colorado for the first four innings of the game, until Martinez showed considerable weakness in his velocity, as well as considerable focus on his leg, and arm. The Mets diagnosed it as arm trouble, but it is still not clear what is wrong wtih Pedro.
Earlier in the season, Martinez went down with a hamstring injury that kept him out until June 1.
Anyway, the Mets finally got to Jimenez in the fourth as Carlos Beltran led off with a double to right center. Two batters later, Fernado Tatis delivered again, this time with a single to plate Beltran and give NY a 1-0 lead.
In the fifth, Jose Reyes led things off with a solo homerun that bounced off the scoreboard in right field; and in the sixth Brian Schnieder singled home Carlos Delgado to make it 3-0 New York.
Carlos Muniz was terrific going two perfect innings to earn his first win of the year. Billy Wagner notched his 22nd save. The Mets are now a half a game behind the Phillies for first place. Philadlephia got bombed by the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-4 this afternoon.
