Phillies Fall to Cardinals; Make NL East Tighter

CARDINALS 2
PHILLIES 0
The Phillies continue their downfall, losing their fourth in a row, allowing the Mets to pull even closer in the NL East.
The Cardinals got it done with a Rick Ankiel homer in the fifth and a Ryan Ludwick homer in the sixth inning.
Joel Pinero got his third win of the year, going six and third innings, giving up only five hits. Ryan Franklin got his twelveth save of the year, getting Jayson Worth to pop out to end the ball game.
Cole Hamels, who is an All Star snub this year, got the hard luck loss.
If the Mets win they will be a game and a half out. If the Marlins win they will only be a game out. BOXSCORE.
