GIANTS 10
Six months after they won the greatest Super Bowl ever played, the World Champion Giants were back on the field in a game situation, this time losing, a road game to the Detroit Lions 13-10. Good thing it didn't count, so the Giants 11 game road winning streak is still intact.
The Lions got it going early in this one, as Jon Kitna hit Roy Williams on a 20 yard strike to give Detroit a 7-0 lead. The Giant starters didn't play long, only a series or two, as Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning went 2 for 6 for 19 yards. David Tyree, famous for his helmet catch in the Bowl, didn't make any catches tonight.
With the Lions up 10-3 in the fourth, David Carr, who was exiled from the Houston Texans and is competeing for a backup quaterback job, threw a nice 13 yard pass to Craphonso Thorpe for the tying touchdown. That's right his first name is crap!!!
Still, the Lions drove the ball down the field to kick the winning field goal, a 41 yard job by Eddie Johnson to give the Lions a rare 13-10 victory. It's only preseason, the Lions don't win often, and the Giants don't lose often.
