Favre Practices Among 10,000 Fans

Usually when the Jets practice at the old dumpy facility at Hofstra University maybe a thousand or so people would show up to see their team prepare for the upcoming season. Today was a different story, in fact, it was a game-like atmosphere. Over 10,000 people showed up to see Brett Favre wear a Jet helmet for the first time ever.

Favre looked good in the practice, at one point completeing a 50 yard pass to Jerricho Cothery. Gee, 50 yards in one play. It would take 10 throws for Chad Pennington to get 50 yards on a drive.

Still there were some idiots who showed up in support of the jettisoned QB. I wonder if they would route for Chad and the Dolphins when the play the Jets on opening day? Hmmmm.

The Jets will cater to Favre's needs, changing up some of the play calls to codes and signals that he is familiar with from his 16 years as the god of the Green Bay Packers.

I think it’s very realistic,” Mangini said. “We’ll cater the program and the learning, and he’s been working incredibly hard. He, (quarterbacks coach), Brian Daboll and (offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer have already spent a lot of time together. We’ll take it in chunks.” (Yahoo Sports.com)

BTW, Favre fits the Jet helmet very nicely. CHECK OUT THE PHOTOS BY CLICKING HERE.
