It appears that the Giants Express is making a one way trip this season to Tampa Bay, Florida. There will be no pit stops, no excuses, no whining, no stops for gasoline. The Giants are a machine that is possessed by the desire to repeat as World Champions.
The Giants let it loose early and often in this one against the Seahawks. On the opening drive of the day, the G-Men set the tone as Brandon Jacobs bulled his way for a 44 yard dash down the left side for a first down. On the next play, Eli Manning hooked up with Dominck Hixon for six, a 32 yard bomb down the sideline, as Hixon came down with the ball in the endzone. 7-0 Giants.
On their next drive, Hixon took the end around up the gut for 15 yards to put the Giants in business again at their own 40. Two plays later, Manning hit Amani Toomer for 22 yards. Manning would come back to Toomer for 29 yards, down the right sideline on a beautiful rope to give New York a first and goal at the Seahawk three. Jacobs took it in from there to give the Giants a 14-3 lead.
In the second quarter, the Giants completed a 12 play 6:24 drive to all but put the game on ice as Jacobs scored from the one yard line to give New York a 24-3 lead. The key play was Manning hitting Hixon for 13 yards to spot the ball at the Seahawk one.
Finally, in the third, the Giants put away the game for good when Manning connected with Sanorice Moss for 23 yards to give New York a 34-6 lead.
Thereafter, the Seahawks had no answer for the Giants. Matt Hasselbeck went 11 for 21 for just 105 yards. He was even injured on the second play of the game, as Justin Tuck crashed into Hasselbeck's knee. The Seahawks had only 13 first downs and 187 measly yards of offense in this one.
Jacobs had a huge day, rushing for 136 yards and two TD's. Eli Manning was sparkling. His 19 for 26 passing for 267 yards is not enough to describe how poised and confident Manning played today. He looked like a seasoned veteran just kicking back and having a nice stroll in the park.
The Giants are clearly the best team in football. They are 4-0 and look to be unstoppable.
