Shockey Traded to Saints

Well thank God Almighty, Giant fans, fianlly some good news!

The Giants finally traded frustrated and cantackirous tight end Jeremy Shockey to the New Orleans Saints for a second and fifth round pick in the 2009 NFL draft.

This ends what has been a long and tourtured stay for Shockey, who made a reputation bad mouthing teammates and coaches, especially Eli Manning and Coach Tom Coughlin, on the field and off the field.

The Giants had no use for Shockey during their postseason run in the final five weeks of the year last year, as Kevin Boss delivered clutch catches almost every week, including a big third down conversion in the Super Bowl. Shockey in case your wondering was seen sitting in the Giants suit during the Bowl drinking a Budweiser - nice job!

Shockey isn't a terrible player, he does have 57 career grabs for 619 yards, and would add a needed passing weapon for the Drew Brees and the Saints, but it is his bad attidute that will make many wonder what the Saints will get from the former Miami U. product. Will Shockey dare cause the same rucous he did in New York in New Orleans? Will he trash Drew Brees, a two time Pro-Bowler, like he did Manning - a Super Bowl MVP? We will have to wait and see. I think he will have a solid year in New Orleans, but like many pampered stars who need media attention who leave New York (Keyshawn Johnson comes to mind) will eventually disappear into oblivion.
