Giants vs. Vikings Postponed Because of Snow

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Sunday afternoon's 1 pm kick-off between the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings was postponed to Monday Night because of 15 inches of snow that hit Minnesota on Saturday.

The Giants tried to take off for Minneapolis earlier on Saturday morning, but had to be re-routed to Kansas City.

The Metrodome also saw some damage from the heavy snow. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Commission had some serious concerns about employees digging snow off the bubble roof of the stadium.

The move gives both teams an extra day to rest. Brett Favre could use it. The 41-year-old vet was TKO' ed last week against Buffalo and has not really practiced much this week because of a injuired shoulder.

A few years ago, a game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs was postponed on a Sunday and moved a Friday night because of a pending hurricane that was to hit Miami; last season a game between the Ravens and Bears was bumped up three hours because of snow in Maryland, however these changes are rare.

Fans in New York and Minnesota markets will see the Giants game on Monday, which will be broadcast on Fox, and will go up against the Ravens/Texans game on ESPN.
